"I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream." -Vincent Van Gogh
3/31/2017 0 Comments Recycled Materials Final ProjectThis is my finished recycled project. I worked on this with Kayden and Emily. We finished melting the plastic wings and made the body out of a black trash bag. Then we glued different fabrics onto the back, attached the wings, and used aluminum pieces to make it a little more exciting. I enjoyed making this, but I was kind of disappointed in the end result. It wasn't really what I was imagining, but I learned a lot from it and had a good time. Maybe I'll come back to exploring recycled materials one day.

3/23/2017 0 Comments Recycled ProjectThis is my progress on my recycled project. Kayden, Emily and I worked on melting the blue Food Lion bags down into the shapes of butterfly wings. It was kind of difficult to manipulate the materials, but I think it looks really cool. We are planning to use black plastic bags to make an outline around the wings and add it into the background.
3/17/2017 0 Comments Recycled Materials ProjectThis week, Kayden and I continued to melt blue plastic from Food Lion grocery bags into the shape of butterfly wings. I sketched out the wings on the cardboard so that I can see where the plastic should be melted. After we get all of the plastic melted, we're going to attach the plastic to the cardboard and make a background with other recycled materials.
3/17/2017 0 Comments Scribbles DrawingThis is a drawing I did by making a lot of scribbles and finding images inside it. I found some birds and an upside-down heart. This was cool because I realized that even in chaos, you can find pictures.
3/17/2017 0 Comments Multi-Media ProjectThis is my multi-media project. I used watercolor, chalk pastels and sharpie. On the right side is a a brain, veins and colors coming out of it everywhere and arrows circulating around the picture with the words, "What goes around, comes around." There are also words on the left side saying, "The words of a man's mouth reflects what is in his heart and mind." The words that come out of your mouth will show people the kind of thoughts in your mind and heart and it is important to guard your tongue.
3/10/2017 0 Comments Recycled Materials ProjectFor my recycled materials project, I am working with Kayden and melting the plastic from food lion bags and other plastic bags. We are going to melt the plastic into the shape of a butterfly and then glue it onto big pieces of cardboard. The plastic melting has not gone as well as I thought so far, but I think it is going to turn out.
This is a project I did in about 30 minutes that represented what I would choose as my last message to the world. I would tell the world to stand up for what is right not to allow the oppression that is taking over our world. We need to stand against fear, violence, oppression, injustice, and all of the other evils in our society. This is my subtractive project. I cut out a large amount of the paper to create the silhouettes of people's faces. One is a woman, and the other is a man, flipped in the other direction. I thought this looked really cool and kind of symbolized identity.
3/3/2017 0 Comments Enamel ProjectThis week I worked with enamel to make a pair of earrings. I started with a square of copper, cut it in half, and shaped it into two oval earrings. after filing them down, I added curve to them and then put black enamel on the back. Next, I added colorful enamel (powered glass, and then fired down into enamel) onto the front. I started with a layer of pale blue, added pink, and then added indigo at the top. I am really excited to wear these!
