Art I
"I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream." -Vincent Van Gogh
1/27/2017 0 Comments One Point PerspectiveI also used observation to work with one point perspective, drawing a room using lines. My room has a door in it, a checkered floor, a picture, an open wall that leads into the outdoors, and an arrow on the ceiling pointing outside, saying "DISCOVER." I think the meaning behind this is that we shouldn't always be indoors, but also make an effort to get out and see what else is in the world, because there is so much more than sitting inside and staring at electronic screens.

1/27/2017 1 Comment Observational Drawings OutdoorsThis is the rest of my observational project using the dice, except outside this time. First I drew a long piece of dry grass that looked really pretty by the lake, and then I sketched a clover beside it. From the drawing of the grass frond, I created a 3D image using wire and my sketch for a reference. This was the first time I had ever tried this kind of art, and I don't think it turned out quite the best, but it was really fun for me.
1/24/2017 0 Comments Observational Exercise Using DiceToday we made small a small dice with arrows on it out of paper, went out into the hallway or outside, and rolled it. Whatever direction the arrow pointed in on the side the dice landed on, that is the direction we went in. After two times of rolling it, we then drew whatever the arrow was pointing to. I drew the outside and the entrance of the art room.
1/24/2017 0 Comments Observation Sticky NotesThis week we went around the school and placed sticky notes on things that stood out to us and that we wanted other people to notice. It was really fun and I put some on my friend's cars and in places I thought were interesting and wanted people to pay more attention to.
1/13/2017 0 Comments Observational PiecesThese are pieces that I drew from observation outside by the pond. The first one is a small frond that was by the water. I spent about 20 minutes on it, trying to capture as many details as possible.
The other drawing is of turtles on a log out in the pond, soaking up some sun. I drew this in about 30 minutes. 1/4/2017 0 Comments Finished Text ImageThis is my finished Text Image. The word Beautiful is made up of words that are not beautiful at all, words that I have felt about myself or that someone has said to me about me. The blood dripping from the letters represents the painful wounds these words have caused and how they are still bleeding. The background is beautiful, contrasting the pain at the bottom of the picture.
1/2/2017 0 Comments Reflection MeditationThis piece was created with watercolors and based on my reflection of 2016 and going into 2017. My year in 2016 started out very badly, which is why the paper is cut and ripped in the beginnning and the colors are dark and painful. And then things started to become a little brighter and I grew closer to the people in my life and realized how blessed I was, which helped me get through the hard times. And I met new people who really made me a better person this past year and I had amazing experiences and adventures over the spring and summer, which is why the center is full of happier colors. There were definitely still disapointments, which is why there is darkness here and there, but the good times outshine them. The very end, and brightest part of the picture, represents my hopes and dreams of this coming year, 2017. I hope to be successful and complete all that I do with excellence, and love the people in my life with everything I have and make this year one of the best.
