8/31/2017 0 Comments Identity Collage ProgressThis week, in our study of identity, we covered the aspect of personality. Our challenge is to create a 3-panel composition that depicts our personality. My project will be focusing on my personality in the past, my personality in the present, and also in the future. I have already completed the first panel, which is shown above. The background is a blurry image of trees ignited with a warm touch of sunlight, overlapped by a silver and blue bicycle. On the right side is a painting made up of blocked colors, covered over by the cut out images of detailed marbles. This represents my past personality because I used to be so carefree and adventurous. I was timid, and I saw the world through a very simple lens. I didn't question things, and I hadn't really formed any personal opinions about the world around me. The bike represents my excited personality, along with the beginning of my journey toward maturity. The marbles and the painting of blocked colors represent the joy I found in simple things, along with the fact that my world was pretty simple. On the next two panels, I hope to accurately represent the growth I have experienced in my personality and in my identity.
Today we also discussed family and their impact on our lives. I wrote some about both my immediate and extended family, as well as about my friends, who I consider my family. I know that I have been very fortunate to have family who love me, as many people do not have that. But I believe that family are the people you surround yourself with and put around you to love you unconditionally and to build you up throughout the trials and difficulties you will face in life. I drew a tree as my composition concerning family for several reasons, Besides a family tree being used as a representation of family geneology, a tree
8/25/2017 0 Comments My Expression on ChangeToday in Art II, we did some brainstorming about change and how change impacts us. Before starting my sketch about change, I wrote out some ideas involving change that I have gone through in my own life. When we first started talking about change, I immediately thought of a leaf changing colors. As time goes on and day after day brings different weather and coming closer and closer to fall, the leaf begins to change colors. The original vibrant colors begin to deepen into darker, more mature colors. This reminds me of changes in my own life, as time slowly goes on and I am faced with a lot of new situations. I am still the same person, but my colors have deepened and matured. That is not necessarily bad, as those colors can be very beautiful as well, but it is sometimes different and challenging.
8/25/2017 0 Comments Blog QuestionsHow can I use my art to impact others?
I can use my art to impact others by creating work that is visually appealing and thought-provoking. Art is a way to communicate without using words, compelling others to think more deeply about the subject of your work and the deeper meanings behind it. I want to create art that is beautiful, inspirational, and important. What do I want to convey? Using my artwork, I want to convey to others my interests, my passions, and subjects and themes that are important and thought provoking. I want people to notice the detail and the color used in my artwork, and I want them to be drawn in so that they think more deeply about what is emphasized in the artwork and why it is important. My art mostly revolves around people and their defining features, and I want people to notice both the differences and the beauty of all people through my work. |
